The College has seven library rooms with six of these being available at all times for Chad's students. Our Fenton and Trounson rooms (located at the top of the Main College) opened in 2006 and provide individual study carrels. St Chad's library collection covers the range of subjects studied in Durham and is the largest College library in the University. The College maintains a regular programme of services drawing on modern Anglican Catholic liturgy. In addition to regular Sunday Choral Eucharists at 1100 (sung by the College Choir), there is also a 1230 Said Eucharist Monday through Friday, Choral Evensong every other Thursday as well the celebration of Principal Feasts and Holy Days.
All are welcome to these services, no matter what religous beliefs of background.
In addition, the chapel is open during the day as a place for prayer and quiet reflection.
There is a computer room in College (located above the JCR) available for use at all times. A printer and photocopier can also be found here. Further, all of the libraries and the quad are wifi enabled.
The bar is the hub of College life in the evenings, and is a friendly and relaxing place that personifies the Chad's spirit. The bar is situated in Main College, just off the quad.
Postgrad students are invited to get involved with all areas of College life, and sport is no exception. Although small, Chad's is one of the strongest competitors in the field and there is a multitude of sports teams to choose from. Teams for rugby, football, cricket, hockey, netball, badminton, basketball, tennis, pool, darts and croquet are all to be found.
There is also the boatclub which organises rowing outings for all levels of ability. The College boathouse is located on the riverbank right below Main College.
The College's wine cellar is situated just off the entrance hall, and is maintained by appointed students. It is generally open before formal dinners for students to purchase wine from a wide selection.
